U.S. Anesthesia Partners Announces Leadership Appointments

USAP physician J. Scott Holliday named Chairman of the Board; Robert Coward named Vice Chairman; Len Wright named CEO

U.S. Anesthesia Partners, Inc. (USAP), the nation’s leading anesthesia-focused physician services organization, today announced the appointment of USAP physician J. Scott Holliday D.O., MBA, as Chairman of the USAP Board of Directors and Len Wright, current USAP President, as Chief Executive Officer. Mr. Wright succeeds Robert Coward, who will become Vice Chairman of the USAP Board of Directors. The changes are effective as of January 1, 2024. USAP physicians comprise the largest group of shareholders represented on the USAP Board, and Dr. Holliday has been a USAP Board member for 10 years. Dr. Holliday also serves as Chair of the North Texas Clinical Governance Board (CGB) and is a member of the USAP Clinical Operations Committee.

“Scott has been an impressive leader, both locally at his practice in North Texas, and at the USAP enterprise level,” said Dr. Derek Schoppa, USAP Board Member and Chair of USAP’s Clinical Operations Committee. “He will become the first USAP physician to chair the Board of Directors---further evidence of USAP’s unique ‘physician-owned, physician-led’ model.”

Robert Coward’s move to Vice Chairman of the USAP Board, and Len Wright’s appointment to CEO, are a result of the company’s planned evolution.

“When Robert took on the CEO role in 2021, he agreed to provide guidance for a short period as we emerged from the challenges of the pandemic. He’s helped lead us during a turbulent time in health care and is one of the reasons we’ve continued to strengthen our organization and build on our track record of delivering high-quality anesthesia care to our patients,” said Dr. Joanne Ramjohn, member of the USAP Board of Directors and the USAP Clinical Operations Committee.

“Len knows our business inside and out and is a natural fit for CEO. He is a compelling leader who has strong relationships with physicians and business leaders across all USAP locations, and he is known and respected by our hospital and facility customers. All three of these evolutionary changes will position USAP well for the opportunities ahead while ensuring business continuity,” she added.
