USAP Partner Dr. Moeed Azam to Chair and Moderate International Severe Bleeding Management Meeting

Dr. Moeed Azam has been named Chairman and moderator of the "Canadian Severe Bleeding Management Meeting" which takes place in Toronto, May 12-14.   The meeting is an opportunity for experts from around the world to meet and discuss state-of-the-art acute bleeding management.  It is sponsored by Octapharma and Tem International. 

Dr. Azam, who practices at JLR Medical Group in Orlando, is a strong supporter of Perioperative Blood Management, an evidence-based and multidisciplinary process designed to promote the optimal use of blood products throughout the hospital.   

"Anesthesiologists, because of their comprehensive role in preparing patients for surgery, reducing blood loss during surgery and directing care for patients post-operatively, can play a critical leadership role in developing and implementing perioperative blood management programs that will reduce healthcare costs and improve patient outcomes," Azam said.

The 3 day conference is held at Toronto's Fairmont Royal York Hotel.
