James Grimes

James is USAP’s Chief Financial Officer.  He has over two decades of accounting/finance experience in health care, including significant finance and accounting roles at Ardent Health Services, ultimately serving as Chief Accounting Officer. Ardent is a Nashville-based owner/operator of 30 hospitals and ancillary operations with $5B net revenue, approximately 4,300 licensed beds and over 26,000 employees across six states.

Most recently, he served as CFO at American Physician Partners, an operator of over 150 hospital-based emergency medicine and hospitalist contracts with over 2,500 employees in 15 states.

As USAP’s CFO, James leads our accounting and finance teams in support of our practices and the overall enterprise. He is our key interface with lenders/bankers and, working with the Board of Directors, explores and implement the right financial strategies, tools, and processes needed to keep USAP’s balance sheet and financials healthy
