Moeed Azam, MD, Central Florida
Mo Azam, MD, MBA serves as Head of Innovation for USAP. He leads the company's efforts to innovate in healthcare delivery across the perioperative care continuum, quality, digital care augmentation, educational partnerships to support the workforce, and patient experience. He is responsible for sourcing investment opportunities and partnerships with healthcare technology companies, and development of novel services and partnerships. He is an active participant in leading-edge health technology conferences to source opportunities and maintain an expansive view of emerging technology, in order to support USAP's interest in incubating novel healthcare solutions.
Dr. Azam has served in many capacities over the years, including the USAP national Clinical Quality Committee, corporate business development and practice partnerships, and leadership on a large practice Clinical Governance Board. He has been deeply involved in numerous healthcare IT projects including as a subject matter expert for multi-hospital implementations of Epic and Cerner perioperative applications, as well as revenue cycle, quality and clinical documentation projects. Dr. Azam has also been a recognizable leader in professional advocacy and state and national societies, including the ASA Committee on Practice Management, the Florida Society of Anesthesiologists' Board of Directors, co-chair of legislative affairs for the Florida Society of Anesthesiologists, and past chair of the USAP PAC board.
Dr. Azam joined JLR after completing his anesthesiology residency training at The Johns Hopkins Hospital and a medical internship at University of Miami’s Jackson Memorial Hospital. He had served as the Chief of Liver Transplant Anesthesiology for a decade at AdventHealth Central Florida.
