U.S. Anesthesia Partners Conference Aims to Provide Future Clinical Leaders with Tools for Success

Gathering of Residents and future Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetists provides leadership training that clinicians need to succeed in a complex, ever-changing healthcare environment

DALLAS, TX, October 3, 2024 – U.S. Anesthesia Partners, Inc. (USAP), a leading provider of high-quality anesthesia care, today announced the conclusion of its 2024 Future Leaders in Anesthesia Conference.  The Conference aims to provide Residents and future Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetists (CRNAs) with leadership development and other non-clinical skills they will need to prepare themselves for a successful career practicing anesthesia.

The first half of the three-day event was attended by resident anesthesiologist leaders, and a second session was attended by future CRNAs. In total, the conference was attended by over 160 future clinicians representing over 80 anesthesia training programs. The training sessions were led by experienced speakers and included topics such as responding to a mass casualty event, conflict resolution in an operating room setting, and the importance of mindfulness and mental resilience to prevent burnout.

Kelly LeBlanc, M.D., a practicing anesthesiologist and USAP Clinical Operations Committee member, said: “At USAP, we are deeply committed to empowering the next generation of anesthesia talent through proactive leadership development and training. By teaching a broad spectrum of skills clinicians need as they work in operating rooms, hospital systems and surgery centers across the country, we hope to bring more leaders into anesthesia and encourage stability and job satisfaction in a healthcare field that is constantly evolving.”

USAP CRNA Bree Brown, Chair of the USAP National Care Team Advisory Council, said: “Residency and nurse curriculums are critical avenues for learning the complex clinical knowledge needed to handle any type of anesthesia case. Our Future Leaders Conference supplements these programs with the best practices and additional skills that future physicians and CRNAs need to thrive in any environment. With a well-rounded set of tools at their disposal, we believe these clinicians will be better able to succeed as clinical leaders for their patients and communities in the years to come.”

This year’s event was held in Austin, Texas on September 27-30, 2024. Resident and future CRNA leaders and program directors interested in participating in next year’s conference or learning more about USAP can contact Connect@usap.com
